With that out of the way, something that has stuck with me after watching the film is the thick, almost palpable sense of nostalgia it conveys. Elle Fanning was good, though the voice she chose for the role didn’t allow for a lot of variety.
Felt pretty stilted and unnatural, though he had a few strong moments. I also wasn’t a huge fan of Justice Smith’s (lead guy) performance. But, that’s honestly to be expected from a film like this. So this is coming from a completely impartial point-of-view.įirst off, I wasn’t a huge fan of the story itself, it felt very derivative and I predicted every story beat from the beginning. I went in 100% blind and knew nothing about the source material.
